W Costa Rica - Reserva Conchal

This was my second stay at this property, and it continued to impress. Located about a 1.5-hour drive from LIR (Danie Oduber Quirós International Airport in Liberia), the resort feels wonderfully secluded. As we arrived on the gated peninsula, valets immediately took our luggage and escorted us to the lobby for check-in. The lobby itself is a stunning indoor–outdoor space situated near the main restaurant, adults-only pool, and bar, all with sweeping ocean views.

Check-in was quick and efficient, and welcome drinks were offered upon arrival. On our first visit, we were upgraded to a Superior Suite Forest View with a plunge pool, and on our second stay, to a Superior Suite Ocean View with a plunge pool. While both were beautiful, we actually preferred the forest view, as it truly felt like being surrounded by the jungle.

The resort is built into the hills overlooking the ocean, with an adults-only pool conveniently located near the lobby and guest rooms. One of the standout features of this property is the beach. It’s about a five-minute walk downhill, passing the spa and the family pool and beach restaurant, though golf carts are readily available for guests who prefer a ride.

Breakfast was very good, offering a wide variety at the buffet along with a chef preparing omelets to order. On one morning, service was a bit slow with coffee refills and table clearing, but this was the only service issue we experienced during our stay.

In addition to the beautiful beach and ocean views, there are numerous hiking and biking trails nearby for guests who enjoy exploring the area. Overall, this is an excellent property, and I would confidently recommend it to clients.
